Join VEBA volunteers for a day of service working with the trans community in coordination with Equality Virginia's TIES Pop-Ups!
CLE and training for the clinic will be offered beginning at 10:00 a.m., with 2 hours of interactive Virginia MCLE credit anticipated. The clinic runs from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The clinic will assist clients with name change applications, petitions for gender marker changes, birth certificate corrections, DMV and social security record updates, DD214s (military discharge records), and answering related legal questions.
Note that while Spanish-language competency is not required to volunteer at this clinic, participants should expect Spanish-speaking clients. Court-certified translation services will be made available. When registering, please do not indicate Spanish language competency unless you are comfortable working without a court-certified interpreter.
