Join VEBA volunteers for a new way of working with the trans community in coordination with Equality Virginia's annual Transgender Information and Empowerment Summit (TIES)!
This year, the TIES conference and VEBA's accompanying legal clinic will be entirely virtual.
The clinic will assist clients with name change applications, administrative and judicial petitions for gender marker changes, birth certificate corrections, DMV and social security record updates, DD214 updates (military discharge records), and answering related legal questions.
The training webinar, with two hours of anticipated interactive MCLE credit, will be on Saturday October 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Video replays with no CLE credit will be available online for those who are unable to participate in the interactive webinar. Due to changes in Virginia law, all registrants are required to watch the webinar.
Attorneys will work with their clients on the attorney's schedule over the following two weeks. Additional details about clinic operations will be in the training, as well as the confirmation and reminder emails. The target date for the close of the virtual clinic is Monday November 2, 2020.
Sponsored in part by Williams Mullen and BaryLaw.
